Sadie-Laurastein Danhara (Monday Motivation 3/02/20)

This week's Monday Motivation is a very personal one, she is a local designer, a friend and a God fearing women. Sadie-Laurastein Danhara was born and raised in the capital city of South Africa, Pretoria. She grew up being very artistic and creative " I was always sketching up a storm" Sadie says. While most children wanted toys for Christmas all i wanted was sketch pads and canvases "there was always something

a blank page or a fresh canvas, it was like a new day and a opportunity for me to create something new.

She made her first R200 in a drawing competition in Grade 5 at Rietondale Primary School. At the time Sadie had no idea that she'd be making a living off her God given gift. In her teen years she began to experiment with clothing as she cut up her old clothes and made them brand new "People would always ask me where I'd get the looks and were interested in buying them." . At the age of 16 as soon as she was able to get a tax number she started working in the sales department as well as being a brand ambassador. This opened a new world for her and taught her everything she now knows about advertising, marketing and studying people . Sadie has always wanted to start her own brand and own her own business but never knew where to start. After high school Laurastein took a gap year where she decided to follow her dreams and step into the unknown. She started her business in February 2019 making the business exactly a year old this month. Sadie has had a strong female influence in her life, her mother is also a business owner and this encouraged her and gave her confidence to start her own business.

"something that drives me a lot is people, having a impact on people, inspiring others to follow their dreams and through hard work and determination you can accomplish anything." Sadie is not only a entrepreneur but a lady that stands strong in her faith. She says that being an example to other to show them that you can do anything through Christ and that we are all gifted from God with many different gifts and talents. Her goal for SLC is to expand nationally and internationally, to create jobs and to impact and create opportunities for others and to take new territory and take up space everywhere!!!

On a personal note Sadie is someone I really look up to, seeing her drive and ambition is amazing and let's not forget about her love for God.
